Who are your current top 3 recommendations of artists to support and why?May I skip that one please, because one certain longhaired young man from Sydney might become a bit arrogant if he knew he was my absolute number one in the current ranking... Nice spoken!!!

I love the visual here of an executive falling out of his chair behind a desk with papers orgainzed into piles, though I also visualize some of these papers falling and a couple minute breather while picking them up. It is great to see your input to these questions though Johanv. I also love what you had to say in regards to advice for artists.

Now that you've discussed everything and gotten it out of your systems, it's the moment for a bit of ME time. So here we are: me! (And mom, if you're reading this, I have not given anyone my real/personal/confidential information. I've been a safe internet user! Teehee) 1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Purple! The favorite colour of many. Myself included. 2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) I am a believer. But if you must know, I have also been the muse of many of Light's creations. Her best ones, in fact. 3. Tell us something about yourself. Not generally a fan of cheap and easy -also known as crappy- american humour, the single-most memorable and consequentially most used quote in my life: "I have a belly-button!" {from Big Daddy} Funny how the human mind works, eh? 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? My mother. TYpical, gosh! Heh... She signed me up and I decided to change the password and assume my identity. 5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? It's more personal actually. It's a nice way to spend a spare hour communicating with random people, but mostly it provides Light with the confidence she needs and sparks an interest/desire ni music when it seems to fade. I don't like how some of the most prominent artists are cheap, fabricated, phony... Argh. You know where I'm going with this. A) How do you decide what artists to support? I grew up around 'artists' in a mainly church/christian school environment. So I hated musicians. But... I like personality. And this is why I support people. I can buy any music anyday. But I can't always invest and interact with musicians that spark my interest. B)Who are your current top 3 recommendations of artists to support and why? Light, duh, and I haven't quite decided on the rest of the list yet but when I get some recordings of my own out there, you better believe I'll be in my own top three. Hehe. C) Any other artists you're currently interested in? Oh yes! There's this guy who plays the accordon on the subway here. He wears a puppy on his shoulder and has a cup taped to his arm. I find it fascinating; interesting. D) What advice would you give to artists who have just signed up to Sellaband? Bring in more believers, leave the current investors alone. Oh yes! I said it! Pacem, people. --Purple

Well, i guess it's my turn, anybody else in the room ?... hehe 1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Elvirkan. Oh don't ask me what does it mean. But i guess it comes right from my unconscious. As Freud said, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, don't try to make sense on everything... 2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) I'm a Believer, oh yeeaaah ! 3. Tell us something about yourself. I'm a french living in Switz since 2000. Working in psychiatric hospital as a psychosomatic therapist. My work is a lot of relaxation. not for me... for patients I'm married with a lovely wife and happy to be a dad of a very cute 2 yo son. 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? I found out SAB reading a forum in SAB i guess. 5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? I like everything for the moment. It's just a revolution. As said another Believer, i've became a sellabandaddicted.

Ha ha, You are too cool boss. I'll never be arrogant but... Just make sure that you are careful with my bags when you pick them up at the airport when Vegas visits your fine country... and that my bed in your mansion has clean velvet sheets for when I stay over. ;D You are the best Boss I have ever had!!

1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Danny 2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) I am currently a believer, but I play in both bands I believe in - don't know if that makes me a true believer I've heard some good stuff though and I will probably become a believer for real some time. 3. Tell us something about yourself. I hate this question I'm 36, from the Netherlands, in a relationship, I develop web applications and try to spend as much time making music in the time that remains. 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? Heard about it through Bauke van der Laaken who was already working with Nemesea at that time. 5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? The fact that it creates a sort of family, that it gives bands the means to interact with people who like what they're doing and vice versa without having to get big enough to actually travel around the world and visit all of them in person (not that I think most bands of that size do that kind of thing anyway..) Also, for the believers it's a way to show support in a different way and to keep tabs on what 'their artists' are up to. A1) What tactics do you use to try and attract believers? Get as many people as we can to listen to the music. Also I think it's necessary to hold on to the believers you've got by remaining active and maybe giving them sneak previews or other incentives. Without believers you'll never get anywhere. A2) Are there any other artists on Sellaband you're interested in or would like to work with? There are a few I'd like to tour with A3) What would you like to achieve through your experience with Sellaband? I'd like to find out what people think of the music we make. To grow as a band. A4) Why should believers believe in you? Because I do If they like what they hear and would like to show their support they should. Because believing in an artist is a great way to get them going even harder, to make them believe in themselves even more. B1) How do you decide what artists to support? Whether or not I'd like to have the music I hear on a cd B2) Who are your current top 3 recommendations of artists to support I'll skip this as I've only believed in myself and haven't made up my mind about other artists. Seems unfair to just drop names. B3) Any other artists you're currently interested in? See B2 B4) What advice would you give to artists who have just signed up to Sellaband? Be active, stay active, listen to your believers, work with them, get more people to sellaband.com

Hello guys my first post (of many!) 1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Mullac14 - 2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) "When I saw her face I said I'm a believer if i see her when i die" 3. Tell us something about yourself. Well i want to become a study medicine and become a doctor! 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? I read the newspaper and there was sellaband on about Daniel Ward Murphy. Well done The Times! 5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? I both like and dislike the fact that the project is just starting off! How do you decide what artists to support? Great music, ability to play live! It also used to help if they were from the Uk as it would be easier to see them live but i have kind of changed my mind about it. Good a bands will break borders! Who are your current top 3 recommendations of artists to support and why? 1. The lies 2. My cousin kate 3. Vegas Dragons Any other artists you're currently interested in? Way to many to name so heres a shortlist! The killers Get Cape. Wear cape. FLy The zutons Kaiser cheifs Orson The fratellis What advice would you give to artists who have just signed up to Sellaband? its probably best if you yourself bought parts as at the moment it seems if you get over a certain point of money. people will notice you and put money in themselves. It may be sort of cheating though!

1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Daniel Ward-Murphy or my believer profile dwm
2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) One of me is one and one of me is the other.
3. Tell us something about yourself. I dressed up as a teletubby and went to the World Cup - hmmmm, I should have said I like Italian food shouldn't I... 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? I learnt of the concept through a friend and I had always believed that I could be successful if enough people got to hear my music. I guess I will find out if that is the case....
5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? I love: - that you can hear music from all over the world - that people can become a fan without having to come from the same country - that it is kind of democratic who gets there
I dislike: - the constant messaging of artist and believer profiles. Not every artist can spend hours each day on the site but it doesnt mean they want it any less. - that performing live becomes less important... With labels it was impossible getting the right people along to the gig so at least that has been taken away! - but it does take time for an artist to be good live - and I suppose the more performance developed artists lose out a bit... with major labels running the show you get a lot of artists who dont have particularly good songwriting, through SellaBand you may get artists with great songs but not particularly great live performances. I suppose after we have got 30 artists who have got there that will be one of the main separating factors...
6. What tactics do you use to try and attract believers? I just try to put my music up, talk to believers, talk to potential believers, keep rehearsing, keep writing, keep gigging and keep promoting. I will try and get some videos up as soon as I can, I may be able to record some more songs at some point but unfortunately that thought is a luxury at the moment.
7. Are there any other artists on Sellaband you're interested in or would like to work with? Yes! I won't mention them all but the ones that spring straight to mind are Kane Sole, Cubworld, Second Person and Clemence. I would obviously consider any approach on its merits though.
8. What would you like to achieve through your experience with Sellaband? I think most singer/songwriters want the same thing. An opportunity to write material that gets heard and an opportunity to play it how you want it to be heard. If Sellaband can deliever a fan base across different geographies, the opportunity to play with other talented artists and a way to give a financial reward to your fans on top of all that then it would be like all my dreams coming true at once!
9. Why should believers believe in you? Well I have recorded only three songs as a solo artist but in these songs and the older material I rotate on my profile, I hope people will recognise that I can write good songs. I have written more on a par and I will write more and more. My lyrics whether simple or cryptic do mean something and I sing them with emotion. I hope that will be enough for people to believe.
Outside of that, I can't really pretend I love the music of every artist on SellaBand (as I would feel like a fake), but I do hope my real personality and desire to do what I have always wanted to do can still shine through.
If anyone has taken time to read all of this I am very grateful for your time. Enjoy the wonderful artists on SellaBand and it would be great if you could take the time to listen to my songs.

Oke, this is maybe a good first step to get 'known' on SellaBand! Here we go! 1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? I'm part of MACHIN! That's our band name, and our account name on SellaBand! So remember: Machin will get you dancing! www.sellaband.com/machin2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) we are a band! But we invest in our own music by selling some ebaystuff and invest all of our babysit money in MACHIN parts! So we're a believer too, I guess 3. Tell us something about yourself. We are quite different from the majority on sellaband, so it seems. We are a collective with now 4 people, but planning on gaining members (like a real drummer and bassist!). We make dance music, but we like to think of ourselves as an 'intelligent' collective 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? Our dj found it on the internet, and we've got nothing to loose, so why not try it? 5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? The comments of others who are NOT relatives are most helpful!!! artists: What tactics do you use to try and attract believers? ...euh, we introduce ourselves on the forum ;-) No, we have some nice original projects in the nearby future!!! They'll be announced on THIS FORUM!!! Huray! Are there any other artists on Sellaband you're interested in or would like to work with? Well... we've some experience with a rock group where we gang up with, and on stage ... man... it's burning! So if there are any groups who want us to do a remix, or would want an after party after their gig, plz give us a call!!! What would you like to achieve through your experience with Sellaband? we'd like to enlarge our audience ofcourse! And if SellaBand could mean for us our breakthrough... Why should believers believe in you? I think it's very important that we believe in ourselves! We are very ambitious and anxious to get there! So beware, you'll hear ALOT from Machin! So... what have I won now? ;D

Hello Friends. CUBWORLD here. Sorry it took me awhile to get into the forum. My wife has been so active here and she fills me in but i think its time i get more envolved. So here is my introduction. 1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? CUBWORLD 2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) I am an artist and a Believer. 3. Tell us something about yourself. I love Ketchup! I am also a little Tongan/American that just loves to play music. I never really heard rock music till i was about 12 years old. It didnt take long for me to take it all in and get stuck in the deep end of the music pool. Growing up in Tonga all i new was reggae and hip hop, well, vanilla ice and MC hammer anyways. I remember buying an ICE T album when i was about 10. The first and last time my mom ever took me to the record store hahahaha I always had a desire to play the drums when i was small. I finally was in a rock band last year with some friends. I sucked but it was good to finally live that dream. I moved to hawaii when i was 11 and grew up there till we left last year in August. I had friends in hawaii turn my ears to bands like nervana, silverchair, mxpx, offspring, the wallflowers...New music and style i never heard before. When i turned 19 i was really into incubus. i thought it was a perfect mix of all the music i had grown up with. a couple years later i was working out to system of a down and dave matthews. two complete different styles but thats how i roll ;D no musical racism here. I played the trumpet in 7th and 8th grade and then became a choir boy for the next 12 years after that. I even was in a backstreet boy band lol. i cant believe it. i have also been in a reggae band called ZION which is where i got my youngest boys name. I have been in quite a few groups but never really started writting my own stuff till early 2006. As i got a little older and kids came around i started to chill on my music style selection. More chill layed back toons. I put together an album for my senior art show and never thought that people from around the world would be listening in. This is where i ran in to the dream maker sellaband. 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? I had a friend on myspace that had a banner on his page. I followed it and read. Not to tough to understand and the more you read the more connected you get. Genius concept for real people. I love it! 5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? All like and ZERO dislikes. I love the community factor and the chance that people with no connections in the music world can get from sellaband. i have met Tony Platt folk! He worked with Robert Nesta Marley!!! I got to sing in Europe! These are things that had i tryed it on my own would have happend when i was to old to enjoy them. Infact, i have no likes about sellaband. I only have LOVE ;D artists: What tactics do you use to try and attract believers? I used a real active approach. Talking and Replying to believers and artist. I would often put out new songs to keep people revisiting more and more. I changed up my picture often so people would know something was happening on my page. I said thank you and still am saying thank you to every believer. Are there any other artists on Sellaband you're interested in or would like to work with?YES. I dont want to name them but yes. What would you like to achieve through your experience with Sellaband? A great album and be able to pay some bills. I would also like to see more of the world by touring around the globe playing my songs. Why should believers believe in you? Im real. Im not in this for fame. A little bit of fortune but thats not my focus. Im an artist and i am and have been doing what i have been doing because it is in me. cubworld is who i am and its all real. There are tons of real and awesome band on sellaband that deserve and will get the same chance i have gotten. And that is AWESOME!
