Hi everyone ;D Thought I'd come and join you - thought you could all party without me ay? Well you were wrong! Here's a bit about me ... 1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Phil Tweed 2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) all three 3. Tell us something about yourself. I'm way too old to start out on this whole music thing (37) - but what the hell - it's worth a crack anyway. I run my own music business with my wife - she does artist and event management - I do studio production, music direction and live music performance. We started our business two years ago. We have five cool kids. 4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? Brian Taylor from Vegas Dragons told me about it - I checked it out, and saw that it was a fairly new concept and if I was going to jump in, it had better be sooner rather than later - so here I am 5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? I like most things, dislike the dependance on cc's and paypal - it just alienates potential fans - can't see much way to get around it though. 6. How do you decide what artists to support? At the moment - I'm supporting those artists that I have had personal involvement in the production of their material. I would love to support more - but the budget is a bit tight! 7. Who are your current top 3 recommendations of artists to support and why? As some consider it uncool to invest in yourself - I can't very well put ME at the top of the list can I (and yet by saying that I have done so - quite surreptitiously did you notice? - btw, my link is www.sellaband.com/philtweed ) To be truthful - I haven't had a heck of a lot of spare time to go wading through the enormous number of artists that are on the site (just starting to do so now), so I'll limit it to those that I have currently invested in. I wouldn't put money into them if I didn't recommend them to others. Currently my list is: Vegas Dragons, Tiffany Gow, Wild Rose, Kristy James and Nathan Eshman - in no particular order. 8. Any other artists you're currently interested in? I'm interested in the Cubworld phenomenon from an observers perspective, and I think Maitreya is an interesting guy, considering he's from New Zealand - he must be OK! 9. What advice would you give to artists who have just signed up to Sellaband? Don't spam, write personal messages to everyone, and make sure you take a genuine interest in what others are doing - the world doesn't revolve around you (blinding revelation that hits some musicians before they die)

Artists could learn a lot from your knowledge. As far as I am concerned you are the Yoda of musicians - except your ears are a bit shorter. You have a wealth of experience that others can learn from. It is so good that you have found the time to join this forum. Okay, no more compliments for you. It is sounding a bit cheesy.. but I mean every word! It really is great to have you here!

1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Namor
2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both) believer
3. Tell us something about yourself. I've seen 33 summers so far and as I am a lucky guy I spent half of them with my wife. Since 13 weeks a new citizen is commanding us around in our flat, ignoring our needs for sleep but we love him nonetheless. I'm currently working for a consultant company who is spezialised in the IT & insurance area. Unfortunately that job leads me to other countries for most of the week at the moment. I'm an music & book addicted person, who collects CDs & books like other persons stamps. My wife moans, as I need too much space for this at home, but I'm unable to give something away.
4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? Sellaband was totally unknown to me, until a working collegue (who joined as an artist), came that day an told me about it. First I just signed up solely to give him a start with a single part to honour his effort in the music business. Then the next day I came back to explore SBA a little bit and was astonished, about the quality of the other artists. Then i fell into it and feel a frantic urge to buy one part after the other.
5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? I am fascninated about the simplicity and effectness of the concept. As love makes blind at the start, there is nothing that I really dislike at the moment. And the cream on the top is, that you can interact with the artist you like and talk with them about their music.
6. How do you decide what artists to support? a) First of all I make a quick check on the newbies at least every second day. So I try to keep track of all the artists. When I find them interesting I make a note and come back some days later. If I find them still interesting I wll buy a/some part(s). b) Then I check the profiles of other belivers and read their recommandations. c) I only invest money when the profile is filled in properly. It's a pitty to see some artist with good material using the fire and forget strategy. d) I prefer also artists who take an active role in the community.
7. Who are your current top 3 recommendations of artists to support and why? Thats a tough question, but I try to answer it. - Hammondville, I simply like their songs. They have something I can't escape. - Vegas Dragons, If you know Brian, you can't escape that charming Alien from the other side of the world and of course it's the music they make. - Second Person, I love their style and Julias voice
8. Any other artists you're currently interested in? Yes all the artists that can be found in my profile. It's to me a growing problem, that there are too many good artists in the meanwhile, so I can't keep up with posts, parts and time as I want.
9. What advice would you give to artists who have just signed up to Sellaband? a) Fill in the profile with alot of infos, don't leave the pages empty. b) Don't be thrifty with your songs. I saw in the last days new artists with only one song uploaded, although they recorded already 1 ore more albums. c) Dedication and patience. There are some exceptions, but in general the growth will be slowly. d) Take part in the community and raise your voice. Talk to other artists and belivers and you will get noticed.

Welcome Namor Having a baby is one of the greatest things. Tell us more about your baby... name/sex etc. My hubby tries to overflow the house with books and stuff as well. I've gotten him to store the ones he doesn't need in the house, in boxes in the shed. He still has too many in the house. He says the same about my crystals though. You've been with your wife since 16? That's beautiful (and rare).

Hi Mandyleigh! Mhm, what should I tell you about my little fellow? He is 13 weeks old male and his Name is Tobias. He is a calm and serene boy, which makes quite easy for his parents from the start. He seldom cries, only if he has bellyache which is common among boys within the first 3 month. He started with handsome 3,11 kg and 48 cm and became a big and heavy toddler of nearly 6 kg and over 60 cm of size. He starts now to babble and to smile knowingly at you which gives a lot back for the last 13 weeks of feeding, swaddling and dragging around. As to my wife. Yes we met back in school back in 1990 and could'nt keep our hands off each other. In the meantime we are married for 8 years and it feels like it was yesterday. Time is rushing by so quickly.

It gets worse Namor Time rushes by quicker when you have kids. Soon he'll be 2 and you'll be trying to remember what he was like as a baby. Just take PLENTY of pics and video of him and yourselves at this super-special stage. A good idea is to start a personal blog (ie not on Myspace, but something just for yourselves, friends and family.... to keep a track of all the special things that happen each day with your son, which you would forget about in a year. When he's 18 you can present him with a book of all the posts and pictures from your blog. I recommend using Wordpress, as it`s so easy to use. Babies are so helpless until they can crawl. I felt so sorry for each of my girls when all they could do was move their little limbs and wobbly heads... must be so boring for them. Having a baby is truly a life-changing experience. If he's calm now he should grow up being a calm person too (I hope both my girls were calm). He's growing well that's for sure. What are you feeding him I met my hubby when I was 18, and we've been together ever since. I just can`t seem to get rid of him Well done to you both. A sister for Tobias on the way in another year?

Hi World! My name is Tiffany Gow and I am so honoured to be a part of Sellaband.Seriously what an amazing idea.I'm a Muso.I live in Sydney, but proudly hail from a town called Newcastle,NSW,AUSTRALIA. GO THE KNIGHTS!(This is the best rugby league-football team on the planet) I fell upon Sellaband through my best mate Brian Taylor from Vegas Dragons.A very passionate music supporter and a dedicated muso. I love that Sellaband gives me the opportunity to promote my music to the entire world.I am being true to who I am.Asking believers to view my site and if they have faith- believe. There is no offence if you do not believe,Feel free to hear my songs on my sellaband site. www.sellaband.com/tiffany-gow www.myspace.com/tiffanygowFor so long I have loved a muso by the name of Lou Gramm from Foreigner. It would be my honour to support this wonderful man on a tour.He totally sums up how I feel about love and life.I am often drawn to tears by Foreigner lyrics. My Favourite band and quite frankly the best band on the planet is Bon Jovi.Great lyrics, great live performance-gold pants and all!(Melbourne gig 2001). I love Kiss too- they rock! I hope to achieve $50,000 on Sellaband.I have made my debut album by self funding it.I hope to make my 2nd album bigger and better. It is a scary but exciting ride.I can live with myself at least when I say I've tried my best. The rest is up to faith, fate and luck. God bless everyone for Christmas and the New Year to my believers and future believers too! Take care and bloody rock at Christmas. From the Novocastrian Tiff xoxoxo

1. What name do we know you by on Sellaband? Actuall name is Luke but my online personality gets his own name we just call him Netvalar.
2. What are you on Sellaband? (artist/believer/both)Believer
3. Tell us something about yourself. I am a dreamer who also believes that everyone can have thier dreams come true. In that vein I communicate with people to help them. This has gone from face to face to online chats and eventually led to me starting blogging. My personal dream of course is universal domination after all why dream small with just the world when I can dream big with the universe. Along with this I am a 37 yr old eternal teenager, Scholar, Researcher, Waiter, Bartender, Blogger, Retailer, Ignorant Consultant, and hopefully soon I will be adding Talk show host, Flea marketer, and universal dictator.
4. How did you find out about Sellaband and what convinced you to sign up? In one of my consulting sessions with a musician I was asked my opinion. I of course had to check the site out and research what was happening before having an opinion. After almost 2 weeks of research on site and off site I decided that not only did I like it but I wanted to promote it as best as I could.
5. What do you like/dislike about the concept? I actually had a basic idea similar to this concept so I love it. What I like even bettter though is the use of professionals who have been in the business for decades. Got to give those 30% decrease in labor force from the major labels some work so we can keep thier experience active. I admit that I am still in the wait and see on just how successful this and other newer music concepts will be for the long haul but it is def GREAT at this time in the music chaos we live.
believers: How do you decide what artists to support? I try to focus on those who I can understand, though sometimes like Lily it is the music that gets me. I mostly prefer good lyrics great vocals and heart or passion.
Who are your current top 3 recommendations of artists to support and why? That is so hard for me at this time as I still have this long list sitting next to me of must hear artists. I also am hoping to get other artists who I love involved. However if I were to have to answer that question right now I would say.
Lily- Her voice has a strange affect on me I could listen all day and the music that goes with it makes me want to dance the night away. I feel once she gets going she will move so fast few will be able to keep up.
Mandyleigh- She sings from the heart its in her lyrics and her voice. True momentum coming from her.
Vegas Dragons- Great music great drummer. These are people who have drive and motivation probaly enough of both for dozens of bands. I have advised so many people to work on these 2 traits in fullfilling thier dreams. I see vegas taking the world by storm with great music and lots of ambition.
Any other artists you're currently interested in? Cubworld great softer tones, Whisper wall has a great pop/rock sound, I still am listening to more just like santa claus I am making my list and checking it twice
What advice would you give to artists who have just signed up to Sellaband? Set-up your own domain name with or without a web-site. No site use a blog or direct your domain name to your sellaband profile. Tell everyone everywhere your domain name. Your fans and believers can be your greatest asset don't be afraid to ask them to help out. Network fan sites across cyberland.

The information that this man is willing to share out of the kindness of his heart is unbelievable. It is EXTREMELY valuable information. If someone left a thousand dollars on the side of the road - everyone would pick it up. If someone was willing to offer you thousands of dollars of free infromation - how many would bother to take the time to learn? Any artist listed on Sellaband who does not take the time to read every single one of his blogs is doing themselves a great injustice in my opinion. This is a very wise man.
