Daniel,
If you do not accept, you won't be able to get in and ask for payout (which is currently also NOT working). So don't do anything yet if you don't want to accept the current T&C.

@magnus: This is indeed illegal. To force acceptance of new T&C's as a condition to access an existing profile and money account (which is what believers have), is against the law in all European countries. If you don't accept the new T&C's, you should be granted full access to your account and be able to withdraw your money and have it paid out.

Walter, it's very simple. If, for example, I am a huge fan of, say, Public Enemy. I invest big in PE to get the recognition, free T-shirt etc, so say US$ 150. I am completely uninterested in any other project. Public Enemy than leaves Sellaband three weeks after I made my investment. Nice, my money is stuck in SAB, only thing I now can do with my money is invest in other artists that I have no interest to do. I will not get my PE CD and T-shirt, not my money back, only the option to invest in artists I do not care about and hope they won't leave also. Ah, thats probably another reason why I'm not really worried. I never liked the single artist believers in the first place as I don't think it's in the spirit of SellaBand. And is the statement true Better check with the new management before making such bold statements. This is unclear and not what the T&C say. ==== Now I wish to make a few last remarks before I sign of this discussion which is highly irrelivant to me as I accepted the T&C. A week ago the Dutch subsidiary SellaBand asked for suspension of payments and went bankrupt. That is very sad for all people involved. They managed to find a buyer and to save the system for both artists and believers had to act fast. And then you guys are worried about poorly scanned conditions? How sad. Be glad some-one took over and saved the d**n thing. There are a lot of things unclear but it doesn't help to spread misinformation. I would like to continue believing on SellaBand and give the new management the benefit of the doubt.

It's gonna be a lonely place for you Walter. But, I respect your right to an alternative opinion, and wish you and the other investors/music lovers and the artists the best of luck. I feel sorry for everyone except the management (past and present).
Shame, I had high hopes the new guys would make it into what it should have been all along. At the moment it just seems to be wanting to jump off the cliff.

I'm not sure I agree with your interpretation of what happened regarding the bankruptcy Walter. As JohanV has said he's been looking for a new Sellaband owner for months, the bankruptcy was probably just a step in a process that had already started. It does make certain things more convenient, like laying off staff where in a normal takeover they would need a "social plan" and I think after bankruptcy they can 'simply' point at wellfare at be done with it AFAIK.

Its pretty simple realy. If you wanna go, go. If you wanna stay, stay. Theres no need to keep trying to force your opnions on eachother over and over and over again! Agree to disagree please and leave it alone.

I wish it was as simple as that, mr10. I would love to stay if the terms were OK, but they're not. So I'd like to leave, but take my stuff with me. That's impossible at the moment. I have sent a mail with my concerns and questions to info@sellaband.com but have received no reply yet.

Sellaband has run an update which seems to have fixed the payout system. I've tried it on a smaller account of mine and will see what appears in my paypal account.

Hi all! First of all thank u Lu for providing this facility so quickly to enable us all to exchange our views on this situation. It seems we are being deliberately kept in the dark to intimidate us into clicking one of the two available options. I agree that the only sensible conclusion right now is to hang fire and hope that sufficient clarification is forthcoming within the stated 14 days. One additional point I should like to make is in answer to a suggestion that Walter M made about currency speculation. This was NOT possible using SAB as I had a long email correspondence with them last year on that very subject. In the end they made it crystal clear that you could only get back WHAT YOU PUT IN in your original currency. This meant that (according to them) currency fluctuations would have no effect on the believer, so presumably they would take any profit thereby gained and any consequential loss if the fluctuation was in the other direction (!!! ). "What you put in" of course, less fees, which were to be a fixed fee for EACH ONE OF YOUR INPUT TRANSACTIONS even if the payout/refund were to be just one transaction! (Just thought I'd add that irrelevancy to add to my negative feelings towards SAB!)

IMPORTANT: It is almost certain that TalentCast will interview the new owner of SellaBand, Michael Bogatzki. The programme will be recorded tonight (not yet sure what time), and available on our website tomorrow afternoon (also broadcast on Ede FM as usual).
Please send us questions that you would like to be asked in the interview to us at studio AT talentcast.nl. We will do our best to include as many of them as possible.
Please keep the questions rather brief and, to make our work easier, polite enough so that we don't have to rephrase them! Don't wait too long with sending them in, we would like to have the questions within two hours.
!! DO NOT post questions here on the forum because we are not able to follow all the threads and search for questions... send us an email instead.

Just saw the payout email Cat posted on the support site, apparently you now have to request a payout within the first two weeks after paying (as per the new t&c) but credit card payments have to have been in the system for at least 3 months, so in effect we've gone from ýou can always have your money back' to 'be quick, or we'll keep it (and we're going to let you wait so long you'll have forgotten about the payout before we even attempt it)'

The idea that I have 2 weeks to get my money back is bothersome to me. For one thing this means that I should only deposit the amount I know I will spend but I don't know if an artist will still be there unless they are closer to 90% funded.
I think this creates a cycle that will bring SAB to THE END. I had a couple of things in the works and now will be putting them on the shelf as I don't expect SAB to exist by 2012.

Dear all the company
I' d like to share my opinion about some T&C changes with you here
1. Increasing fee for SAB from 10 % to 15 % of artist's budget. as an artist I would like to know what exactly this money would be payed for. I mean what exactly new SAB is going to do for artist. [So far it was only unrealised promises and making hopes - as result no one from 50K or X K artist became a real star ( or at least recognizable artist name for people who are not connected with SAB)] Then it would be possible to make a clear statement if 15% of budget will worth it.
2. those very popular now " two weeks" for getting money back"
I think it has good and bad sides Good - for every active artists, because it makes their XK budget more stable. I know personally artists who leaved SAB just because of unexpected removals.... and I know it was a lot of fun for believers to play games by remove and invest while they were hunting for nice LE CD numbers or while countdown chats, this part will probably gone.... but did this part be in common with music anyway?
Bad side was described by some believers here and I totally agree
I would see it in different way there should be more clear conditions when ( in which cases) believer will be able to remove his money from SAB after 2 week I think there should be cases like a) artist leaved SAB b) artist is inactive for X weeks there should be probably more cases mentioned
3. Transaction fee ... it should be definitely decreased to possible minimum I also mean separate escrow's for dollars and euros budgets etc...
what I am thinking about now is
we had a community here maybe as a big number of people logged here we should do something like brainstorm or poll and work out which changes in new T&C would be more acceptable I am sure we have right persons here who can wright it down together in professional language it will be much more constructive then emotional discussion about what some one like or dislike. then after creating an alternative points for T&C we can send a group letter to new SAB holder I do not mean an ultimatum letter but proposal which can help new SAB and all of us who would like to use new site well then HQ will make a statement... it will probably end by some compromise but I hope it could bring more goodies for us all
