... but my money is in Escrow ...
So if I decide not to accept the new T&Cs presumably I can get it back just minus the paypal charges?
Anyone?

UBG That part of the equation seems simple enough to me. But if you don't accept the new T&C then effectively you're saying you don't want to use the site. Hence you'd be giving up access to revenues etc. for those artists already recorded/recording for the (up to 5 year) period their contract is set for. Tricky huh? Obviously the ideal solution I think most people are looking for is to get their existing money out but leave their account active but "sleeping" so they can continue to attract the revenues for the remainder of the applicable contracts, but the question is whether you have to accept T&C you don't actually agree with in order to be able to do that or not.

good one Lu, future revenue (however small) should still be paid even if I don't agree with the new terms.

Edit: Since this post is linked to the notice on which artists are leaving, I gave it another read and saw a couple things that might be confusing. I am leaving as an artist. I am staying as a believer, if for no other reason than to see what happens. And by now we all know that payouts work. I still believe it makes the most sense to accept the new terms, since that is probably the quickest way to get your money back, if that's what you want. Whether or not you participate afterwards would then be in HQ's hands, according to whether or not they brought the T&Cs more in line with what the believers want. end edit
I just want to know that I can retrieve my account balance. We really have no choice but to accept the terms, eventually. Of course we do not have to use the site. But if you want to continue to participate, you have no choice.
If bankruptcy there is anything like in the US. The court has already ruled how the company treats interested parties. I just never trust legalese. It sounds like we can take any money out for two weeks after we accept the terms and we accept the terms by default if we don't reject them in two weeks. So you have nothing to lose by starting another account to participate in SAB and holding off for a couple weeks on canceling your main account to see where everything falls.
In the Meantime... Please do not invest in my project anymore. I'm sorry. But this is just not the site for me. I liked so many things about it, not the least of which were the people, believers as well as artists. But I don't need it. My fans have proven themselves able and willing to use Kickstarter, but reluctant to use SAB even before the chaos era.
I don't think the bankruptcy and subsequent buyout will improve that situation. I hope the site succeeds, it was exactly what I needed when I joined a year ago.
I'll still be around.

In this case, you are forced to accept the T&Cs, and after that, you should request the refund of the money immediately within 2 weeks. Then you'll get your money invested and/or on your balance back, and you'll still be able to receive the enormous revenues which are even payed in € now...

Hi all, Just a quick message to say that I'm not accepting the new Believer conditions nor Artist conditions. I've chosed to "disagree" with all terms (too many grammar errors and spelling mistakes in the contract) My SAB account is being cancelled and I'm no longer going to be a part of this. If you want to stay in touch with me please join my mailinglist at www.francisrodino.comIt's a shame - I love the community - but i can't be a part of SAB any longer. F

Edit I left the original post, but put it in italics. This deal is no longer valid. As it turns out, I did read the T&Cs wrong, I could get those parts refunded simply by giving them back to my main account, which is what I did.
I have a deal for anyone interested in buying an account. I have about 13 accounts left of the accounts I created to sell at gigs. (This was going to be my big promotion, then after I sank that money into these parts, the site entered the Chaos Era and was down for weeks after which I declined to sell them until I knew what was up.)
Each account has a single gift part in Groove Duke. It is unclear whether I'll be able to get any cash out of the gift parts at any price. So, if you'd like to buy those gift parts. I'll sell them at face value. A great deal for you: No fees or crazy markups. You get a $10 part for $10. A great deal for me, I only pay a fee to paypal. I only have 13 left.
If Interested, email: gro ovedukeproject @ yahoo dot com (no spaces and use an actual dot.)
Again, if I understand the T&C correctly these are parts that will have to remain in the system anyway. So use them to finance someone close to their goal. Or whatever.
email me and we'll work out the details.

Anyone want to venture a guess as to how not getting your money back after two weeks combines with artist-specific gift parts when the artist pulls out?

Please dont even go there. My head hurts by only thinking of it.
Im not that frustrated with the new t&c. Not planning on getting my parts back as long as there is a website and artists to invest in. And there always be artists i would want to invest in. I'll just wont put any new monye in but play around with the existing parts i own. Still thinking it can work out for the good.

dannythis is something I've been trying to Fathom out for my brother and Mount Fabric. They put in a request to delete the profile a week or so ago, and are emailing people to get them to remove parts. Because they won the sixpack though, at least 10 Believers are one part gift part owners, so it will be interesting to see if they get to keep them, or if they have to reinvest. Which they won't.

Really don't want to bother you with my problems here. But I'm seriously thinking about if and/or how to continue with 50K MUSIC MAG I do not intend to let Artists and Believers down, but for me continuing only makes sense if I don't limit the mag to SellaBand Artists (a step TalentCast made a few months before). I'm only afraid SAB artists will not get the attention they deserve then - because they are still very special and dear to me. What do you think?

This is a message I just sent to my believers, posted on Sellaband's Forum and sent via e-mail to believers I had e-mail addresses from. As many people are reading here, I hope this message also gets to my believers who are on here but not (yet) back on Sellaband. =========== Dear believers, I am posting this message on my blog and the Sellaband Forum as well as contacting some of you via e-mail (if I have your address), to let you know that I am continuing my project on Sellaband. With all the discussions going on about the new Terms & Conditions (and I agree with you all that there are a lot of questions that need an answer or clarification first), I fully support any decision you make about staying as a believer or not. I do hope you stay on board as I still believe in the concept, and hope that the new management will be able to get Sellaband to the next, professional level. If you decide to leave, but not withdraw the parts already invested in me, please stay in touch with me via e-mail at lindy (at) jazzmore.nl. I will then still have some obligations to you which I fully intend to fulfill! If you decide to leave and withdraw the parts already invested in me, I fully understand and am still very grateful for you having believed in me! If you had bought parts to receive my Demo CD, I would appreciate it though if you would leave the 2 parts you got that for, as the making of the CD cost me a lot of money If you decide to stay, then let's stick together and get this ball rolling again. Your belief in me is something I deeply cherish and I hope that the questions that have arisen will all be answered soon! Hugs, Lindy
