Good news guys .. I just got an email from the Trustee solicitor Dear Aly, I my capacity of bankruptcy trustee of Sellaband AG, I have yesterday sold the Sellaband business and assets to German buyers at Munich. This transaction was approved by the Amsterdam Court. The contract will be signed today. The buyers have guaranteed that they take over 100% of the obligations towards both the Believers and the Artists. So, both the monies owed to the Believers and the Artists are safe. The monies owed to the Believers will remain to be kept in an independent trustaccount (Treuhand) in Germany, which is separated from Sellaband, as it was before. It is to be expected that the Sellaband website will open again no later than either tonight or tomorrow in the course of the day. Further developments will be published through this website. Vis a vis potential investors we have to say that there is no business for them, because the deal is done. It is important now for the ‘Sellaband community’ to calm down, because there should be no fear as to their monies. At this stage I will not give any information as to the background of the bankruptcy of Sellaband. In about 3 weeks an official report to the Court will be released, that can be found on www.curatoren.nl. Kind regards Van Doorne N.V. Paul Schaink Advocaat/trustee Sellaband AG

Hm...that all makes not much sense...why go into insolvency in the first place - because you enjoy the good press?
Strange...

Hm...that all makes not much sense...why go into insolvency in the first place - because you enjoy the good press? Strange... Normally not that strange. This way you do not need to buy out the previous shareholders as their shares have a value of zero after a bankruptcy. So probably the purchasing price is a lot lower. Only problem now is that they now also destroyed the brand. My feeling is that they hoped nobody would notice the court rulings before the new owner could be announced. Which would explain why the site only mentioned server maintainance while the insolvency already started last Friday. Their bad luck is that someone on 23 February noticed the court rulings from 19 and 22 February and posted this, and via Twitter a wildfire follows. But the ruling of 19 February went unnoticed for two complete business days, they always dit get away with it. But my reaction probably will be to get all my money out that I can still take out as soon as the site is online again (which is fortunately not much anyway as I basically already stopped investing during the Chaos Era last year and pulled most of my money out at that time. Investments since are giftparts I could not retract and advertising income reinvested). And something tells me I will not be the only one.

Well, first Greece...now SAB. I mean all, who haven't seen the writings on the wall, I guess thats their own fault and I don't think they have a reason to whine after their lost money....
Regarding the artists, well, pitty.
Next.

Now, it depends on how the new buyers will act. If they play with open cards (and they should if they want SellaBand to be successful), I'll stick to support artists who wants to continue. After all, SellaBand has to gain reputation again, and who, but the old, activ believers and artist could help in this? Fortunatly, I don't have any CDs on the inventory at SellaBand

Same opinion for me. Wait and see before acting. Let's know more about this new buyer and the 'cosmetic' changes and so on.

Just speculating about the buyer: Could it be the former sellaband.de partner MM MerchandisingMedia GmbH or another ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary? Btw, SellaBration in Munich is OK for me, count me in . But don't you think it's a little bit too early to sellabrate??
